Orvieto was a great hill town with some really cool things to see.
Jonah will walk up to random things and insist we take this pictures. He’ll say “Look how cute Mom, take a picture of me.”
The Duomo in Orvieto (built 1330) was pretty impressive. I loved the gold on the outside.
This another one of Jonah’s “Look Mom, take a picture” pose.
OK……so St. Patrick’s Well was one of the boys favorite things. This well is 175 deep and 45 feet wide built in the 16th Century. We got to walk to the bottom and the boys LOVED it.
At the bottom of the well you cross over this bridge and walk up another stairway.
St. Patrick’s well was built with a double-helix pattern. It has 2 spiral staircases, 1 leading up and the other down. This way there was never a traffic jam in the well. It was also wide enough for donkeys to go down to carry the water back up. We were pretty impressed!

Civita di Bagnoregio. There is not much to see in this hill town but obviously it’s an impressive sight. You can see why no one really lives there, would you want to carry your grocery’s up that hill??

Love all the Ivy!!!
