We had fun participating in local tradition in our town last night, Räbeliechtliumzug. All the kids got to carve turnips at school and then got together in the evening for a parade. Jonah carving his Turnip at school Thursday night.
Both of the boys carved turnips.
The boys with their turnips. I think someone is tired.
Some of the classes made special floats. This class made a tree out of turnips.
It was hard getting a night shot but their were some pretty cool floats.
I never would’ve thought to carve a turnip, but those look great! I’ll have to come up with some reason to try it this year. Though I’ve never noticed turnips that big around here…
Those look so cool…are they less messy than a pumpkin?
Jonah looked happy carving his turnip. Julie, will you be able to print these blogs? Then you can have them bound together. What an amazing journal. Love, Mom
