The Matterhorn

On Saturday we finally made the trek to see the Matterhorn. No cars are allowed in Zermatt so we took the train from Zürich to Zermatt. (3 hour train ride)
*Jason took the above picture (5 shots) and stitched them together. It was breath taking on top.

The Matterhorn is 14,692 feet, one of the highest peaks in Switzerland. The highest peak in Switzerland is the Dufourspitze at 15,203 ft.

At the top of Gornergrat you get the best view of the Matterhorn.

Trying to figure out where to go next. We are going to have to come back for a ski holiday because the runs looked amazing.

There is a cute little church on top of the Mountain.

The day wouldn’t be complete unless someone fell asleep. I must say it was a long day. We rode the train down from Zuerich which was about 3 hours. Thankfully the sky was blue and the views were beautiful while we were there.

  1. I went there a couple of weeks ago with Huntingtons and it was also amazing weather and a stunning view!! And we also agreed that the slopes looked great and that we would come back skiing there. Maybe we could have next years “Schneeplausch” there 🙂

  2. Julie–it looks like you are having an amazing time. If you ever see any film studios looking to hire, let us know and me and Phil will join you out there. 😉
