Brontallo

We took a 4 day weekend down to Ticino while my mom was here. My friend’s family has a vacation home in a small village in the canton of Ticino Switzerland called Brontallo. The village was built in the 1500s and was pretty amazing. (It’s hard to see in the picture, but the village is perched on the side of the Alps)

The rodes up to the village were pure switchbacks. Mom was embracing the seat while Jason drove up.

The homes in the Village.
Here is the stairway up to the house. It’s the building on the left. We arrived at night and started searching for the door. To our surprise there was at least 10 separate doors leading inside. Everything wasn’t attached, separate bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms. It took us over an hour to find the kitchen. The boys thought it was the coolest thing exploring all over for doors.

The doors were all about 4 feet tall. Jonah is standing in one doorway and there is another door behind Jacob. We had to duck inside in some spots because the beams were low.

We found a room up these stairs, that was my Mom’s room.

The boys thought the house was a cool cave-like house.

Tight Squeeze. It was fun watching this miniature truck drive up with over-sized hay stacks. The old man got out and carried each giant bag on his head up some stairs, talk about hard work.
