We enjoyed the most fabulous stay at Alpzitt Village Chalets, a family‑run chalet village in Burgberg in the Allgäu region of southern Bavaria, just a couple of hours from Munich.

Alpzitt is the kind of place where you can actually feel the people behind it. This used to be a working sawmill, and you still sense that history as you wander between the chalets, tucked into a little corner of village life instead of some big resort.
Everything feels very thoughtful rather than showy. It is the perfect place to disappear for a quiet weekend and just breathe again.

The chalets themselves feel both luxurious and down to earth. Each one is furnished with lots of wood, stoneware and high‑quality finishings. We had our own personal chalet and so much space to spread out and enjoy the wonderful stay. Many chalets come with a private sauna, freestanding bathtub and even a hot tub or wood‑fired hot pot on the terrace.

We absolutely loved having our own private sauna and space. You can enjoy a full spa evening without leaving your own space. This was one of our favorite things, it felt so cozy and private. Instead of a standard hotel breakfast room, you receive a personalized breakfast basket in the morning, filled with fresh bread from the village bakery and local products. This felt so personal and original. We loved having our breakfast delivered to our room and enjoying it in our own space.

The chalet village is wrapped around a pond and natural water features. We even saw some ducks and cowns in the meadows, such an amazing location with gorgeous mountains around. From Alpzitt you can step straight into nature, swimming, hiking and bike paths start right at the door. Guests also have free rides on nearby mountain lifts and local buses with the guest card. In winter, snowshoe tours and small, relaxed ski areas are close by, so the location works in every season.

Food and service are a big part of the experience. In the Genusswerk restaurant, chef Marcel and the team cook a mix of regional and modern dishes using local ingredients, and guests can enjoy them either in the Dorfhaus or served directly in their chalet. We enoyed both, such a lovely experience and we felt so catered too and spoiled.

The team prides itself on service and they love tailoring stays around personal moments. We had delicious morning breakfast brought to our room with homemade and local products. It was in the samll details that really made us feel well cared for. The location in itself is amazing and the service is superb.

What really makes Alpzitt amazing is you get the privacy of your own gorgeous chalet with real spa comforts, the warmth of a family‑run place, and a location that makes the Allgäu mountains, lakes and villages feel and easy to explore.

This stay was part of a press trip, all opinions are our own and we would happily come back on our own time and recommend Alpzitt to all our readers. What a fabulous location and beautiful chalet mountain retreat in the mountains. Defiantly add Alpzitt Village Chalets to your getaway bucket-list.
